Practicality vs Preference

#BaxtersBuzz

A friend of mine is taking his son's full size bed out of his room to replace it with a twin. The full doesn't allow him much room to play, and when his cousins are over (he has a lot of cousins), there isn't enough room. The logical solution is to get a smaller bed, albeit, not the most popular. Although it feels like a "downgrade," it's really an upgrade. He can be more comfortable in the place he spends the most time.

What part of your life do you need more space to do other things? What part of your life could use some unclogging? What are you filling your life up with because it appears to be the right thing, but is really a hindrance?

I believe we all should occasionally take inventory of those in our lives and be sure that we're making time for the right things.

  1. One of the things I believe that we should take into consideration when being active or busy is the productivity of it. Often time our lives are filled with things that keep us busy but not always things that are productive. Even when it comes to calling a friend...is that conversation going to enrich you or is it going to simply take from you. So as we look in "closets" of our life we should determine practivality based on production but we also should leave room for preference as well. Preference is like money...If you feel like you go to work everyday and don't have any money to spend on the way you want. Lets say it all goes towards bills and you don't feel like you have the money to buy a sandwich without the missing a cell phone bill payment. Then you will likely get the "F-it's" and just say I don't care if any of the bills get paid I am going to do some things I want to do no matter the consequence. In life if we don't concern ourselves with any of our preferences we usually snap and begin to put our own interests above those of everyone else. Just a thought. Tell your friend he should just get the smaller bed...
